Employers are responsible for completing all legal formalities related to the legalization of work of foreigners in Poland. The employer verifies whether the foreigner is legally residing in Poland and on what basis: a biometric passport, visa or temporary residence card. For each foreigner from outside the EU (apart from a few exceptions), the employer should obtain an appropriate work permit before entrusting him with work. - Permit type A - applies to a foreigner intending to perform work in the territory of the Republic of Poland on the basis of a contract for a Polish employer,
- Permit type B - applies to a foreigner who intends to perform work consisting in performing a function on the management board of a legal person entered in the register of entrepreneurs or being a capital company in organization,
- Permit type C - applies to a foreigner who performs work for a foreign employer and is posted to the territory of the Republic of Poland for a period exceeding 30 days in a calendar year to a branch or plant of a foreign entity or an entity related to the foreign employer,
- Permit type D - applies to a foreigner who performs work for a foreign employer in order to provide temporary and occasional services (export service),
- Type E permit - applies to a foreigner who performs work for a foreign employer and is posted to the territory of the Republic of Poland for a period exceeding 3 months within the next 6 months for a purpose other than indicated in types B, C, D,
Permit type S - seasonal work permit (for work performed for a period not longer than 9 months in a calendar year) in certain browns: agriculture, horticulture, tourism, as part of activities recognized as seasonal, in which work permits are issued seasonal for a foreigner.
